Northwestern Polytechnical University successfully held the 2018 Advanced Photonics and Photon Technology Forum

November 10th-11th, 2018, Northwestern Polytechnical University successfully held the 2018 Advanced Photonics and Photon Technology Forum. The forum focuses on the development of optical and optical engineering disciplines, and with "photonics and photon Technology" as the theme, invited the National Timing Center, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Semiconductor Institute, Tongji University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Henan Normal University, Taiyuan University of Technology, Northwest universitity, Shandong University and other eight universities and research institutes in China to participate in the participation.The aim is to exchange the latest scientific research achievements in this subject field, discuss the direction, trend and technical problems of subject development, promote the development of Northwestern Polytechnic University optics and optical engineering, and accelerate the construction of young talent team.

The forum is sponsored by the Northwestern Polytechnical University Discipline Construction Office, the College of Science and the key Laboratory of light information technology in Shaanxi Province, with a total of 115 participants. Some teachers, graduate students and senior undergraduates of the relevant subjects of the College of Science of Northwestern University Technology participated in the forum presentation. Eight Leading experts from the field of photonics in the country, including the Changjiang scholar of the Ministry of Education, the winner of The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the "Hundred People Program" scholars of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, that communicate with teachers and students in the relevant subject areas of the university through the form of academic reports. The related work is mainly published in "Nature" and its sub-journals, "Science", "Physical Review Letters","Advanced Materials" and other top journals. Some of the peers and graduate students of other universities and research institutes in Xi ' an have also participated in the academic exchanges of the forum.

On the morning of November 10th, Professor Jianlin Zhao, head of optical and optical engineering and director of the key Laboratory of light information technology in Shaanxi Province, chaired the opening ceremony of the Forum, and Professor Qiuyu Zhang, vice president of the College of Science, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. She gave a brief introduction to the development of optics and optical engineering in the College of Science, and she welcomed and thanked the experts and scholars who attended the meeting, hoping to make valuable comments on the subject development of the university and the construction of the young talent team through in-depth exchanges with experts and scholars.

The eight invited experts, aiming at the Advanced theory and application research of photonics and photon technology in different research directions, emotion the refreshing scientific research achievements of their respective subject groups, and at the same time high-minded and deeply described the scientific research techniques and ideas of related subjects, and also interspersed with the unique views on the road of academic development. After the meeting, invited experts visited the key laboratory of light information technology in Shaanxi Province, discussed with the teachers and students of the laboratory around the subject construction, and put forward valuable suggestions for the development of the school's Optical engineering discipline.
