Undergraduate Program for Major in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics

I . Objectives

     The program is designed to cultivate the specialists with an all-round development—moral, intellectual and physicaland are well educated in applied mathematics and computer skills training to solve the practical problems. The graduates can prepare for many professional roles they might choose —scientific researching, science and technology developing, managing, and teaching. And they can advance their education in applied mathematics or other high tech subjects related to mathematics to get a master degree.

II. Requirements

    1. Mastering the basic theory, knowledge and skills of mathematics.

2. Familiarity with knowledge of economy, management engineering, and the development trend of technology.

3. Mastering the fundamentals and programming of computer ad mastering a foreign language. 4. Awareness about the basic knowledge of P.E. and form the habit of scientific exercising.

III. Length of schooling and degree granted

    Length of schooling: 4 years for undergraduates, according to the credit system.

    Degree granted: Bachelor’s degree in Science



Undergraduate Program for Major in Information and Computing Science

I. Objectives

     This program is designed to adapt to the need of our socialist modernization construction, ensure that students improve in terms of their moral, intellectual and fitness, provide a firm foundation of mathematics, and command the basic theory and method of Information and Computation Science. Students with good knowledge and abilities in application of theoretical and technical can solve the practical problem with the help of computer, have the ability in working on scientific research, teaching and technique exploiting with regard to Information and Computation Science in scientific institution, higher education school, and organization of aviation, navigation, and marine. Also it is suitable for one to have a further study as graduate student concerning information science, computation science as well as the interdiscipline.

II. Requirements

    1. Passion on Socialism country and resolutely support on the leadership of the CCP.

    2. Passion on scientific career. Good habit of the style of study. Ability in contacting the theory with the reality, seeking truth from facts hardly, cooperating with othersand having the courage to innovation. Undergraduate Program for Major in Chemical Engineering and Technology

I . Objectives

Chemical engineering and technology specialty is one of the three specialties offered by Department of Applied Chemistry and is Shaanxi features professional. The platform is based on the Key Laboratory of Space Applied Physics and Chemistry of Ministry of Education. The main research interest is focused on the following fields: preparation and application of fine chemicals, novel energy materials. The specialty has built up a complete and effective platform for both undergraduate and postgraduate education. The specialty has formed a teaching and scientific team of doctorial tutors, professors, associate professors and instructors.

II. Requirements

1. Basic scientific theory about chemical engineering and technology specialty should be mastered, including fundamental chemistry, fine organic synthesis, basic principle of chemical engineering and technology and so on. Students also should have strong self-study ability.

2. Knowing certain social, cultural, scientific, law and national defense knowledge, understanding the frontier and developing trend of the major.

3. Students should have knowledge about synthesis, process design, equipment selection and product testing, document retrieval, data querying and the skill to write a scientific paper also should be mastered.
