The Laboratory of Space Applied Physics and Chemistry focuses onmultidisciplinary researchon space applied physics and chemistry. It has been an important basis ofChina’s research andeducation inthis field. Five research directions have been conducted, including ground simulation and physical characterization of space environment, physical and chemical properties and preparation principle of materials in space, chemical synthesis and biomedicine in space, computation of physical and chemical processes in space, and design of equipment for space applied physics and chemistry experiments. The laboratory is staffed with a well qualified faculty includingone member ofChineseAcademyof Sciences, two winners of National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, two professors of the Cheung Kong Scholars Program. The laboratory has established international cooperation with more than 20 universities and institutes in different countries.
